Applications on plain paper giving details of qualification (High School onwards), experience, publications including a short write-up on the research area of interest are invited from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. Programme of the University.

Eligibility: Teachers of constituent / affiliated colleges of the university and sponsored candidates from reputed R&D institutions in the state are eligible to apply.

Qualifications: ME / M.Tech / M.Pharm with minimum CGPA of 7.5 (or 70 percent marks) at Masters Level and minimum of 6.5 CGPA (60 percent marks) at Bachelors level.

Supervisor: A candidate shall have to take one of the registered teachers as a research supervisor from one of the constituent / affiliated colleges of the University who has proven record. He / She may have another research supervisor from reputed institutions/R&D Establishments. Interested candidates may contact the supervisors in selecting broad research area. A biodata of the possible supervisor including his / her publications in last five years must accompany the application.

Application and Selection Process: The application with full details with A/C Payee Demand Draft of Rs. 1,000/- drawn in favour of Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela should reach the University office at Rourkela on or before 30.06.2006.

Short-listed candidates will be called for a written test/interview. Qualified candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D. Programme. Only on successful completion of course work and proven evidence of the candidate’s capability to carry out research, the candidates will be allowed to register for Ph.D. Programme.

Registration of R&D Institutions: Institutions intending to be recognized/affiliated for the purpose of research may apply in plain paper giving details of the Institutions, its facilities, its research staff including their qualification, experience, and research publications in the last five years along with a recognition / affiliation fee of Rs 10,000/- drawn in favour of Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela. Supervisors from recognized / affiliated Institutions may supervise a Ph.D. candidate independently or jointly with a registered faculty of the University.
